POSITION SUMMARY
Goldbergs Group is seeking an IT Tech Specialist to provide day-to-day technical support across our restaurant, food manufacturing, and corporate locations. This role is the hands-on point of contact for end users, handling hardware, software, network, and point-of-sale support requests and keeping company technology and equipment running smoothly. The IT Tech Specialist works under the guidance of the IT Manager and IT Senior Technician, escalating complex or high-impact issues as needed, and is expected to deliver responsive, reliable service across a fast-paced, multi-location business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to end users across all Goldbergs Group locations, including our restaurants, food manufacturing facilities, and corporate offices.
- Log, track, and resolve IT incidents and service requests using monday.com or similar platforms, meeting established response and resolution SLAs.
- Provide Microsoft 365 suite client application support; assist with routine tasks in the Microsoft 365 / MS Entra (Azure AD) admin portal under guidance.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure, including PC hardware, laptops, printers, tablets, VPN, and core software systems.
- Assist with asset management and the proper allocation, tracking, and setup of desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and tablets.
- Work with vendors to support Clover POS systems across restaurant locations.
- Set up, maintain, and support Zebra printers.
- Set up, maintain, and support Ubiquiti UniFi security camera systems.
- Provide in-house audio/visual setup and support for meetings, events, and corporate spaces.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding IT tasks per department SOPs, including account setup, equipment assignment, and access changes.
- Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting core network infrastructure — switches, routers, wireless access points, and VPN connections.
- Follow established IT procedures and controls that support ISO 27001 and SOX requirements for systems and data handling.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes and procedures, and help keep documentation and the internal knowledge base up to date.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the IT Senior Technician or IT Manager in a timely manner.
- Provide multi-location IT support, traveling between Goldbergs Group sites as needed to resolve issues that cannot be handled remotely.
- Participate in an on-call rotation — including weekends — for after-hours and emergency support coverage.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years of hands-on IT support/technician experience.
- Highly proficient in technical support and troubleshooting across a variety of systems and environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows OS; working knowledge of macOS, iOS, and Android.
- Experience supporting the Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi basics.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components — hardware, software, networks, and data storage.
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting skills across desktops, laptops, printers, tablets, and mobile devices.
- Strong ticketing/documentation discipline, ideally with monday.com or a similar platform.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
- Medium duty physical capability: able to occasionally lift/move IT equipment (servers, monitors, network gear) up to 50 lbs, and frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs; comfortable working in server/network closet environments.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with willingness to travel regularly between Goldbergs Group locations.
- Willingness and availability to participate in an on-call rotation that includes weekend coverage.
DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Clover POS systems.
- Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi networking equipment and camera systems.
- Zebra printer setup and support experience.
- Audio/visual setup and support experience.
- Exposure to the MS Entra (Azure AD) / 365 admin portal.
- Experience supporting a multi-format business (restaurant, food manufacturing, and/or corporate environments).
- Basic scripting/automation exposure (PowerShell) for routine IT tasks.
- Relevant certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+.
