Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of the aviation catering operations. Ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role requires a strong and proven record of leadership with expertise in food service, logistics, and team management. This candidate will be a leader that can balance day to day operations with long term strategic planning. You will have a strong focus on food safety and a great record of compliance with all regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily catering operations of food production, packaging, delivery logistics and ensuring adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Train and supervise staff on proper food handling, processing techniques, and equipment operation.
- Implement and ensure compliance with all safety, quality, airline specific requirements and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct and maintain accurate records related to production processes, inventory, and safety inspections.
- Utilize forklift equipment for material handling as needed.
- Develop and implement business strategies to achieve financial and operational goals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for airline clients, ensuring high levels of service satisfaction.
Requirements
- Oversee daily catering operations, including food production, packaging, and delivery logistics.
- Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and hygiene standards
- Optimize resource allocation, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Manage inventory and supply chain processes to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the catering, food service, or aviation industry, including a senior management role.
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in food processing or production management.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and FDA regulations.
- Familiarity with GMP practices is preferred.
- Basic math skills for inventory management and production calculations.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and or forklift safely (certification preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities to effectively manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve common goals.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for long periods of time
· Ability to push & pull over 25 lbs.
· Ability to work in 40 degree or below temperatures
